The automaker upped the 718 Cayman’s efficiency with system recuperation, thermal management, and auto start/stop function.The 2.5-liter engine in the 718 Cayman S uses a turbocharger with variable turbine geometry; it pumps out 350 hp and 309 lb.-ft. of torque. The base Cayman uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine that will give you 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.Both models come standard with a six-speed manual transmission. A seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission is optional.
